Solar Power Launch Ceremony

In order to promote sustainable development, LKPFC has been successfully selected by EMSD to participate in “the Green School 2.0 – Solar Harvest’. A solar energy system has been installed on the rooftop of the campus. The estimated green electricity generation is 11800 kWh/yr. We have also joined the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) Scheme. The power company will purchase electricity generated by the grid-connected renewable solar power system for 10 year. The revenue will be used for the promotion of environmental education and maintenance of the system. Moreover, a real-time monitoring system has been installed at the covered playground for students to learn about the electricity generation data of the system. Through this programme, we hope to raise students’ awareness on carbon neutrality.

Visit to Hoi Ha Visitor Centre

Nature Buddy visited Hoi Ha Visitor Centre on 6 July. It introduces Hong Kong's marine protected areas, precious marine ecological resources and the history of Hoi Ha. The Centre also provides useful information related to Hoi Ha. This activity aims at raising students’ awareness, knowledge and understanding of the function and management of marine parks, and to gather their support and action for marine conservation.

Aquaponics System

An aquaponics system is set up to provide students with hands-on approach to explore the possibility of carbon-neutral farming. It helps students better understand the relationship of man and nature, and reflect on the concept of life.
