Objectives:
Through planning and coordinating the professional development of staff members, this committee aims to establish a Professional Learning Community (PLC) among all teaching staff, with the goal of enhancing the overall quality of teaching and learning in the school.
Duties:
- To study and identify teachers’ developmental needs, formulate an annual staff development plan, and organize various forms of Staff Development Days, facilitating professional, personal, and spiritual growth of teachers.
- To establish and monitor the Record of Teachers’ Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for all teachers.
- To explore the philosophy and principles of “Teacher Professional Development” to achieve a high standard of professional practice.
- To foster teamwork, mutual support, and a sharing culture through various activities, thereby enhancing the quality of teaching and learning.
- To support newly appointed teachers with mentorship programmes, helping them adapt to school life and strengthen their teaching capabilities.
- To arrange school visits and exchange activities to promote reflection and sharing that improve teaching quality.
- To collect and distribute reference materials for professional development to ensure staff are updated with the latest trends, courses, and events of the education sector.
